Fuck the Founding Fathers, It Is Time for Gun Control
The American infatuation with the Founding Fathers is no longer an excuse, it is time for action
The Republican response to the recent mass murder of 10-year-olds and their teacher will be predictable. “This is a horrendous attack, carried out by an evil person, but guns are not to blame.”
In fact, many of these so-called followers of Jesus will profess that in order to protect schools we actually need MORE guns. They will say that the Founding Fathers wrote gun rights into the Constitution, so that is that… we cannot do anything about it.
Fuck that.
I am tired of dead kids and thoughts and prayers.
Why in the hell do we listen to old white men that lived over 200 years ago? The world today is very different from what it was then. Weapons today are very different from what they were then.
Enough is enough.
If Democrats do not act and act now on this issue they are dead to me. We have to walk the walk and talk the talk. Win elections, pack the court and do the right fucking thing.
