I had a friend whose kids where born when he was 20 or so. He always told me, "When you are older you have more money but when you are younger you have more energy."

There are positives and negatives to every age that you have children. A lot of people are waiting for the perfect moment to have kids. My mom said, "It is never the right time to have kids." I agree with her, you are never really prepared for the joys and difficulties of raising children.
