It is interesting how some writers seem to do better on NB and others on Medium. My earnings in the last month on Medium have earned me more than I have earned on NB in 4 months...that is with being monetize and receiving base pay. The reality is that most NB writers are not journalists and they don't really have many true local insights. It seems like the best performing articles are simple listicles that serve as recommendations for an area, that isn't news. The real news that does seem to do well on NB is produced by actual local news agencies and newspapers.
