It seems like you just described living in LA and generalized it to America as a whole. You can move to most small towns in the midwest or in the mountains and probably get exactly what you are looking for.

It is also important for people to remember that the reason many of the European countries seem "safer" is because they are much more homogenous than the USA as a whole. That means that the perception is safety because more people look and act like you and share your same values.
