Republicans Had the World In Their Hand, and They Dropped It

The GOP made their bed, now they have to lie in it

Just over 3 months ago the Republican party looked invincible.

Inflation was as high as it has been in decades, gas prices were up, and the Democrats had little done in the way of legislation. A bloody wave looked inevitable in November.

But today, things are different.

Dems are gaining momentum, the GOP is on the ropes and Biden is throwing some old-school haymakers. November is tightening up and may indeed yield Democratic gains in the Senate and holding the House down until 2024.

So, what in the hell happened? In short, a lot.

Roe v. Wade

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, a decision that flew in the face of precedent and the desires of the American people, they kicked a door open that had been shut for the better part of the last 20 months.

They gave progressive America and middle America something to rally around, and rally they did. The ruling has turned an election that usually has low participation into an election about morals and principles.

A vote for the GOP is a vote against women. That is what it has become all about and…
