This is one of the things I love most about Medium, it really is minimalistic in terms of adding imagery. Most successful posts seem to have a feature image and not much more.

I have created my own blogs from scratch and they are a ton of work and tend to be very image heavy. On Medium I can really just focus on writing with minimal thought to format and zero thought towards maintaining a website.
