Wanted: Expert Copywriter With Law Degree — $20 per article
This was a real post that I saw on Upwork this morning, I am still laughing about it
I spend a lot of time on Upwork. Okay, not a lot, but I try to apply to at least 5 jobs each day. Just to keep things spicy.
Typically my search starts by filtering out all results that pay less than $100, which is my current bottom-level budget. However, this morning my eye stopped at the first result before I could filter it out and the title was literally:
Wanted: Expert Copywriter With Law Degree — $20 per article
After I stopped belly laughing like Santa listening to mama jokes, I thought about how this poor poster came to this decision.
How in the world could any savvy business person think that they were going to get a lawyer, a person likely making over $120K working 60-hour work weeks, to write for 20 bucks per 2000-word article? Or $.01 per word.
Reading more into it, the business was a startup with the typical bro-style lingo permeating the help wanted ad. You know:
